Every moment is a noun, a frame through which we can see the universe.
Every moment is a verb, a flow that passes through us as we move.

The Institute

Many of us are searching for new narratives that will guide us toward a more sustainable future. We are doing so in the midst of a disruptive pandemic, a divisive socio-political landscape, and the destructive forces of climate change. We can no longer rest on our laurels as practitioners but must instead re-imagine who we are and how we work. This is our moment.

David created Integrative Development as a powerful new theory of learning & development and a fundamentally new way of working as a practitioner — both of which were made for these times. The Moment Institute is dedicated to this body of work and its potential for transformation at many levels.

The Institute is  dedicated to preserving and extending the legacy of Narrative Coaching and serving the global community of NC practitioners through the ongoing evolution of this work. We are pioneering new pathways for professional development, practitioner approaches, and peer learning, and innovation.

The Future

An invitation from the Elders of Hopi Nation — Oraibi, Arizona, June 8, 2000

To My Fellow Swimmers:
Here is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid, who will try to hold on to the shore. They are being torn apart and will suffer greatly.

Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river and keep our heads above water.

And I say see who is there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey come to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves. Banish the word 'struggle' from your attitude and your vocabulary.

All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. For we are the ones we have been waiting for.
