The ID Way Program

The Art of Real Change in Real Time

Cultivate a deeper trust in yourself so that you can help others learn and develop in a rapidly changing landscape.

There is something about being able to stand with a client and feel into my own capacity to be trusted as I hold space for their process.

This work expands my ability to stay present in the moment, use myself as the instrument as I work in the ‘field’, and speak plainly in service of what is needed.

- Carolyn Sargentson

You Care About Making a Difference.

It is often hard these days to know how to make a meaningful difference. We see the need to work in more interdisciplinary ways, to address critical issues such as global warming,  and to engage with AI and other technologies — and it feels daunting in the midst of increasing complexity, uncertainty and autocracy.

The good news is that you’re not alone. The practitioners who join our learning community do so because they are seeking ways to resolve the tension between the ways they are often asked to work and what they sense their clients and communities actually need.

It is tempting to keep chasing the latest trends and gathering more tools, yet often this only increases the tension. In a world on fire, ‘keeping up’ or striving to stay on top of everything are not only more difficult but may even be adding to the problem.

It Is Easy to Feel Overwhelmed.

What if there was a better way? A way that starts with your own maturation as a human being and deepens your ability to show up in the moment — any moment — to make a difference?

A way that speaks to your yearning to work more freely and bring more of who we are and what you know to help others to do the same. A way that starts by making the shift from consumption to connection — with ourselves, each other, and our communities.

What If You Could Work More Freely?

What if you could let go of the pressure to have the perfect plan, the perfect curriculum, or the perfect agenda before you could begin?

What if, instead of adding more (more tools, more techniques, more effort), you could trust yourself to work with what’s already present and available?

What if, instead of ticking boxes, you allowed yourself to notice more deeply and work more improvisationally with what is emerging in the ‘field’?

The ID Way offers you a path to greater freedom as you learn how to read the moment, trust your instincts, and work with what people need most right now.

What Is The ID Way?

Integrative Development (ID) is a theory of learning & development, a new mindset and role, and a set of design principles and facilitative practices from Dr David Drake. It began as the integration of change management, training, and coaching.

He has used this work in dozens of coaching and leadership projects around the world for the past 15 years. ID has also evolved through the ongoing study of other inclusive and progressive pioneers, especially in child psychology and education.

The ID Way Program is the leading introduction to this work, and it has sparked a global movement of changemakers in many disciplines and industries. It enables practitioners to move beyond siloed approaches to help people develop at any scale.

What Makes This Program Different?

Most programs teach techniques. They give you lots of tools, models, and acronyms  — but at the end of the day, you’re still following someone else’s script

The ID Way is as much about who you will BECOME as it is about what you will be able to DO.

This year we re-designed the program to make it even more ID-like. We’ve also integrated David’s new work on The Five Maturities so that every skill you start to master in the program is grounded in the maturity you will need to use it well.

You can apply what you are learning to your own 90-day projects, engage in honest dialogues about the challenges we face as practitioners, and weave together the essential elements of who you are, what you know, and why you do what we do.

You will discover new forms of work and new ways of working that feel more natural and uniquely yours — and yield better results for those with whom you work.

That’s what makes this so powerful. It’s not another framework to adopt. It’s a robust and living body of knowledge which continues to evolve as the community grows. It is a way of being that will change how you move through your day, your work, and your life.

I’ve invested in a lot of development programs — including a $25k/year mastermind. This one truly went deeper and created fundamental changes that impact every area of my coaching, business, and life.

The ID Way was everything I didn't know I needed. It was less linear than I expected and more transformational in every area of my life than I could have imagined.

The community was incredibly warm and welcoming. As a result of this program, I have slowed down and learned to embrace the moment.
